Les Casernes beach is Authentique Surf School’s main summer base. The beach changes with swells and sand movement, which makes daily assessment of the conditions especially important before every session.
Teaching adapted to the ocean conditions
Safety, ocean awareness and teaching adapted to each surfer are central to every session. Lesson times and locations are chosen according to the day’s conditions, tides and the ability of the participants.
Each session begins with an assessment of the ocean and clear safety instructions. Technical work is then adapted to the surfer: positioning, catching waves, standing up, trimming, manoeuvres and becoming more independent.
Seignosse, Les Casernes and South Landes surf spots
Based on the Landes coast, the school has detailed knowledge of sandbanks, currents and changing conditions around Seignosse, Hossegor and Capbreton.
From June to September, the school welcomes surfers directly at its beach hut on Les Casernes beach in Seignosse. Outside the summer period, the team can choose the most suitable spot according to conditions.
Safety, equipment and progression
Suitable equipment is included with surf lessons: a board and wetsuit selected for the conditions and the surfer. This makes it easier to focus on learning, progression and enjoying time in the water.
